Obituary of Daniel Franklin Haines
HAINES, DANIEL FRANKLIN – July 30, 1938 – August 3, 2022
The passing of Daniel Franklin Haines, son of the late Claude and Marie (Pedersen) Haines occurred on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Daniel graduated from Fredericton High School (1955) and went on to graduate UNB (1959).
Daniel joined the Canadian Air Force and became a fighter pilot, flying a CF100. In 1964 Daniel went to work for United Airlines until he retired at the age of 65 as a Captain flying 747’s world wide. Daniel was a very generous man. He loved his son, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Daniel is predeceased by his brother, Ib Jensen; sister in law, Alice; sister, Vivian Brawn. Daniel is survived by his son, Sean Haines; nephews, David Jensen (Kathryn), Wayne Brawn (Linda); nieces, June Dunphy (Jimmy), Brend McKee, Darla Andrews; several great nieces and nephews as well as lifelong friends, Terry Paul and Ron Morrison.
Our family would like to send their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and doctors at the DECH and the Douglas Special Care Home for the great care to our loved one.
Daniel’s family and friends will gather on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Mactaquac Baptist Cemetery, Mactaquac, NB at 7 pm to celebrate his home going – All are welcome.
