Cindy Lou Peters 1959 2022

Obituary of Cindy Lou Peters
Cindy Lou Peters, age 63, passed away in Saskatoon on August 29, 2022 after a short battle with cancer. Cindy was born in Dawson Creek, BC on February 8, 1959, to Aganetha (Nettie) and Cornelius (Neil) Peters. The family eventually moved to Saskatoon where she attended Thornton School and later the advanced academic program at Brunskill School. She graduated from Warman High School as on of the top students. After one year at the University of Saskatchewan she moved to Norman Wells, NWT where she worked various jobs including one at the local airlines. In 1983 she moved to Yellowknife, NWT where she worked in a law office, then for the territorial government and finally for the federal government in senior positions in the Mining Recorders Office.
Also, in 1983 she met Réjean Felx and they spent many happy years together before Réjean passed away. In both Norman Wells and Yellowknife Cindy made lifelong friends including Herman, Sadie and Joanne. In 2004 Cindy and Réjean moved to Saskatoon to be closer to family. They enjoyed Saskatoon and attended the Symphony for many years. Cindy worked for the federal government until her retirement in 2014.
Cindy and Réjean enjoyed travelling. They travelled through many parts of Canada and the USA including Hawaii and to their timeshare in Mexico every few years. In 2016 went to India with friends Tej and Jerry, and in 2019 visited Portugal and France.
Cindy enjoyed visiting and playing games with family and friends and she especially loved to cook. Her favorite cookbook was one by Julia Child because it explained the theory behind the preparation of the recipe. Like her mother, she was a huge Blue Jays fan. She was very gifted in her knitting and crocheting and made many toys and blankets for her great nieces and nephews. This hobby evolved into a business in her retirement, Loop & Lace Creations. For many years Cindy sold her crocheted toys, hats and scarves alongside Réjean’s beautiful, handcrafted leatherwork at various markets and craft fairs including the Western Development Museum Christmas Sale and Sundog.
Cindy was proud of being what she called a “nerd”. The family story is that she talked before she could walk! She enjoyed learning and working with her computer making spreadsheets for work or later for their business. Cindy was an outgoing, vibrant and kind-hearted person. She was not one to pass judgement but to accept people as they were.
Cindy will be lovingly remembered by her brother Harvey Peters (Beth); sister-in-law Yvette Felx; brothers-in-law Garry Klassen (Lila); sister-in-law Sandra Peters; nieces Laura Lively and Andrea Wacker (Darryl) and nephews Keegan Peters (Brianna); Brent Klassen (Marlena); Adam Klassen (Julia); Geoffrey Peters (Ian) along with her great nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her spouse Réjean Felx (2021), father and mother Neil (2005) and Nettie (2011) Peters, parents-in-law Etienne (2007) and Gilberte (1975) Felx, sister Janet Klassen (1999) and brother Clifford Peters (2010). A celebration of life will take place at a future date. Cindy would approve of a donation in memory of her to the Canadian Cancer Society or other charity of your choice.
