JACOB, Catherine Evelyn

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sister Cathy on October 02, 2022, at the age of 60. Cathy passed away peacefully at Ridge-Meadows Hospital after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
Cathy was born May 1962, in Prince George, BC. She was predeceased by her parents (Joseph and Alice Jacob) and brother’s Don and Mike. She is survived by 4 brothers, Joe, Jim (Gayle), Bruce and Mark and by 6 sisters; Pat, Alice, Margaret, Marianne (John), Dorothy (Glenn), Terry (Don), many nieces and nephews plus many great-nieces and nephew’s.
Cathy was a long time resident of Maple Ridge and worked for many years seasonally in the fire watch towers at various locations in the south Cariboo. Cathy was passionate about helping others and always willing to lend a hand. Her unfailing optimism was inspiring and she was always willing to share her valuable wisdom and advice. Fair and ethical, Cathy encouraged the same values in all those she met. Cathy was a brilliant diamond with a shining heart of gold and will be forever missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends, with whom she loved to spend her spare time. The smiles, the laughter and the happy times will always live on in our hearts.
The family would like to thank the excellent care-givers at 3 West in Ridge-Meadows Hospital for all their compassion and expert care they provided for Cathy during her stay there.
Services for Cathy will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 20285 Dewdney Trunk Road in Maple Ridge on Wednesday, October 12 2022 at 1.00 pm.
In lieu of flowers a donation in memory of Cathy, for the Ridge-Meadows Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
