It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Carl Fredrick Tilley, a dear husband, loving father, grandfather, and brother. On August 25th, 2022 he fell asleep in this world and awakened in his heavenly home.
Carl was born in Middle Arm, NL, on February 8th, 1950 the son of Marjorie and Donald Newbury. Carl began working at the age of 15, working in the Logging industry as a wood cutter. In later years, Carl became a tractor trailer driver. In 1996 Carl and his family moved to Fort McMurray, AB, where he continued driving for the next 13 years.
On August 31st, 1968 he married the love of his life Violet Newbury. Together they raised three daughters: Linda, Jacqueline, and Connie. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 53 years; Violet nee Newbury, daughters; Linda (John), Jacqueline (Marty), and Connie (Aaron), his grandchildren; Michael, Mark, Jonah, and Jaden, his sibling’s; Elvis (Jacqueline), Todd (Zena), and Thelma (Lloyd), his brother and sister-in-law; Harold and Rhenie Newbury, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and a large circle of extended family and friends.
Carl was predeceased by his parents; Marjorie and Donald Newbury, his sister Sheila Tizzard, sister-in-law; Sandy Newbury, father and mother-in-law; Cecil and Elsie Newbury.
The family will be receiving family and friends at Parsons Funeral Home 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, on Sunday, August 28th, 2022 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place from on Monday, August 29th, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at the Emmanuel Pentecostal Church on Bennett Ave, Deer Lake, NL, with Pastor Jamie Payne officiating with burial to follow at the Pentecostal section of the Interdenominational Cemetery, on Wight’s Road, Deer Lake, NL.
