It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Caleb Thomas “Tom” Carroll of Happy Valley-Goose Bay on May 19, 2022, at the age of 82 years.
Tom was born in Lock’s Cove, on October 18, 1939, to Joseph and Jessie (nee Warren) Carroll. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Selma (nee Coates). Tom was a loving father of Kevin Carroll, Marion Carroll, Sheila Cartier (Lewis), Mona Carroll (Roland), and Dean Carroll; grandfather to Donna Carroll, Wanda Carroll, Amy Thomas, Maria Gregory, Christopher Gregory, Tyler Dyson, Denise Carroll-Eagles (Kyle), Brittany Carroll, Erica Gillingham, James Reid, Paul “Junior” Reid, and Joshua Carroll; and great grandfather to Brooklyn Carroll, Ethan Secord, Skyler Carroll, Benjamin Eagles-Carroll, Jason Obed, Dominic Thomas, and Charlotte Walker; and brother to George Carroll (Christine), Ivy Taylor (Hector), Rose Simmons (Steven), Bertha Snow (Dave), Eileen Brown (Harvey), Evelyn Coates (Andrew), Marie Campbell (Herbert), Bernice Chubbs (Jerry), and Gary Carroll (Shanna). Also, left to mourn are a large circle of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Sheila; his parents; Joseph and Jessie.
A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 2:00pm at the St. Mary Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Reverend Arthur Kinsella officiating. Following the funeral service, he will be laid to rest at the St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery.
