Obituary
Passed away peacefully, but too soon, on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at the Health Science Centre, Sidney Wilfred Bruce, age 72, with his loving wife by his side. Predeceased by his parents, Greta (Bussey) Jones and George Jones and his infant brother, Alton. Left to mourn, his wife Bernadette (Bernie) Crocker; his sons: Stuart and Matthew and their mother, Dianne Jones; treasured grandson Adrian; Bernie’s children: Matthew, Adam and Katie Crocker and her grandchildren: Lauren and Christian Crocker, who will miss their half-pop. Also left to mourn, his aunts: Dot (Clarence) Campbell, Marie (Wilbert) Weir, Gwen Morris and many other relatives and friends. A special thanks to Bernie’s sister, Peggy Stowe, who gave so much of her time to help care for Bruce.
Many thanks to the nurses and doctors on the 4th floor North, HSC, who cared so well for Bruce in his final days.
Visitation will take place at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Saturday, August 27th, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A family gathering of prayer will take place at 9:00 pm after visitation. Internment to follow on Monday, August 29th, 10 AM at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. As expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Daffodil Place, the Kidney Foundation or a charity of your choice.
