Obituary of Bill MacKinnon
MacKinnon, William (Bill) Gordon 1935 – 2022
The family of Bill MacKinnon of Stanley, N.B., husband of Shirley Marie MacKinnon (Reardon), announces his passing, after a lengthy illness on Saturday, August 13, 2022. Born April 7, 1935, in Stanley , NB , he was the son of the late Angus and Edna (Hood) MacKinnon. Bill led a long and fruitful life filled with a love of family, a wide array of good friends, horses, horse hauls, his garden, repairing his extensive equipment and winter sleigh rides. Bill was fiercely loyal to family and his many friends in the community. He loved to visit and chat and stood ready to come to the assistance of anyone who asked regardless of day or night
In addition to his wife of 59 years, Bill is survived by sons Terry (Kimberley) and Brian Joseph William. Bill leaves a legacy of cherished granddaughters Elisa (Kevin) and Chelsea (Jesse) and their mother Sharon; great grandchildren Kyra, Kaison, and Kolton. As well, Bill is survived by brother Ernest MacKinnon (Tina Reynolds) and sister Annie MacKinnon of Yarmouth . He was predeceased by his parents, and sister Ethel McIsaac. The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff of the DECRH and Hospice House for their dedication to his care and comfort.
In honour of the Bill’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday August 19, 2022 from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Stanley, NB at 2 pm. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s name to Hospice House, Fredericton SPCA, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
