Obituary
Bert passed away with his loving family by his side at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Born on September 2, 1949 in Pembroke, Ontario, James Herbert “Bert” Selkirk of Owen Sound, was in his 74th year.
Cherished husband and best friend of Johanne Selkirk for 51 years. Proud father of D.J. Selkirk of Owen Sound and Michael Selkirk (Carolyn) of Bowmanville and beloved grandfather of Caden, Anderson and Callum. Bert will be lovingly remembered and missed by Katie and Thomas Tilson. Dear brother of Joe Selkirk of Sheenboro, Quebec and brother-in-law of Remy Gagne (Carmen) of Ottawa, Lizette Martindale (Don) of Greater Sudbury, Betsy Croteau (Richard) of Greater Sudbury and Carmen Rochon (Perry) of Greater Sudbury. Predeceased by his parents Donald and Muriel Selkirk and his siblings Donna Ponton, Geoff Selkirk and Ian Selkirk.
Bert loved his family and especially adored his grandchildren and those he took in as his own. He was a devoted minor sports coach and Toronto Maple Leafs Fan. He had a passion for many sports but found the most enjoyment in golfing and curling.
A come-and-go celebration of life for Bert will be held at the Legacy Ridge Golf Club on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Interment will take place in Pembroke, Ontario at a later date.
