It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Benjamin Bryan Thompson, 73, of
Southampton, NS, at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on
Saturday, October 1, 2022. Born in Springhill, Ben was a son of the
late George C. and Laura C. (Bigney) Thompson.
Ben had been the owner and mechanic at Thompson’s Metro for 33
years in Springhill. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and
four-wheeling and just spending time in the country. He looked forward
to his weekends together with his friends at the beach and the
country.
Ben will be sadly missed by his wife, Linda (Boyce),
Southampton; his daughters, Kelly (Stephen) Skidmore, Springhill, and
Pamela Thompson, Truro; step-daughter, Loretta (James) St. Peter,
Amherst and his step-son, Christopher (Cindy) Cormier, Salisbury, NB;
eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, as well as his
sister, Janice Quinn, Lakelands, Cumb. Co., his brother, Glen
(Jeanette) Thompson, Southampton and several nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by an infant brother.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of
A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane
Street, Springhill, (902-597-2361). A time of public visitation will
be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 12:00 noon
until the time of the Funeral Service at 2:00 pm with Life Celebrant
Scott Balser officiating.
Donations in memory of Ben may be made to the Canadian Cancer
Society or the Canadian Kidney Foundation.
