Ann Colman nee Johnston 2022

Born in Toronto, Ontario on April 18, 1936.
Loving Mother of Dale Ann Brown (Jeff), Robin Jeremy Colman (June) and Courtney Susannah Colman. Much loved Nana/Granny to Mallory Brown, Tyler Brown, Malcolm Colman, Aidan Colman, Patrick Gowen and Sophie Gowen.
Daughter of the late Anne and Dr. H. W. “Johnnie” Johnston of Toronto.
Ann attended Bishop Strachan School (B.S.S) and then earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Modern History from Trinity College at the University of Toronto.
Ann had a passion for figure skating. At the tender age of 5, Ann was the youngest skater at the time to pass the Preliminary Canadian Figures Skating Test. She went on through the test stream to become the youngest skater to have passed the Gold Canadian Figure Skating Test at 14 years of age.
Ann was a member of the 1956 Canadian Olympic Figure Skating Team and competed in the 1956 Cortina Olympics. Ann was also a member of the 1954, 1955, and 1956 Canadian World Championship Teams.
Ann taught Figure Skating at the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club from 1957 to 1960. She regained Amateur Figure Skating status and served as a judge up to the level of Gold in the Figures, Free Skating, Dance and Pairs disciplines for many years.
She is a proud recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her distinguished contribution to the sport of Figure Skating in the participant, coaching and judging fields.
Ann will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Ann’s life reflected her deep love for her family. May she rest in peace.
