Win Storsberg Monday August 2nd 2021

On Monday, August 2, 2021, Winfried Storsberg, devoted husband and father, beloved grandfather and friend passed away at the age of 91. Win was born on January 29, 1930 in Solingen, Germany to Helene and Otto Storsberg. He apprenticed as a cabinetmaker and qualified as an architect in Germany before embarking on his great adventure in Canada, where he met his soulmate Rosemary Dowdall, to whom he was married for 50 years. Win fulfilled his pioneering dreams just outside Bragg Creek, Alberta where the home he built became, in turn, a basecamp for countless hiking and skiing excursions, a lumber yard, a homemade waffle factory and Santa’s second workshop. Win was preceded in death by his wife Rosemary and survived by their daughter Susann, son-in-law David and grandson Michael. An interment service will be held on Thursday, August 12 at 3:00 p.m. at the Sundre and District Cemetery. A drop-in memorial gathering will take place at The Corral at Bow Rivers Edge Campground in Cochrane on Saturday, August 14 between 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Foothills Country Hospice would be greatly appreciated. Heartland Funeral Services, Ltd., Sundre, entrusted with arrangements. 403-638-4393.
