Obituary of Wilma Marinda Love
LOVE: Peacefully, following a stroke, at the South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Sunday, June 6, 2021, Wilma Marinda (Gilfillan) Love, of Zurich (Bayview Subdivision), age 96. Widow of The Reverend Mervyn J Love (2002). Mother of Allan Love (2011) and Carol (Ken) of Orillia. Step-grandmother of Kris Stojic (Darren) of Nova Scotia, and Jennifer Taylor (Brent Obee) of Bracebridge. Step-great-grandmother of David Brooks of Orillia, Tyler Brooks (Laura) of Ottawa, Beth Smith (Nigel) of England, Jessica Richardson (Evan) of Brantford, and Joshua Woodcock of Waterloo; step-great-great-grandmother of Declan and Mosman. Remembered by her nieces and nephews and their families.
Predeceased by her parents William and Margaret (Shier) Gilfillan of Usborne Township, sisters Madalene Jory (Clifford), and Viola Hunkin (Wilfred), parents-in-law Thomas and Annie Love, brothers-in law Ross Love (Nola), Hugh Love (Edith), Lloyd Love (Vera), and sister-in-law Edith Gill (Douglas).
Special thanks to Janice and Lee McCutcheon, Anne Near, and her One Care team who made it possible for her to continue living in her own home.
Wilma loved colour, dance, art, music, her home and her family. She was a proud teacher having begun her career in a one-room school house on the B-Line near Grand Bend and finishing in Brights Grove with additional locations in the Leamington and Sarnia areas.
A private family interment will be held at the Grand Bend Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood.
If desired, memorial donations may be sent directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Epilepsy Ontario or Huron Shores United Church, Grand Bend.
