William Kenneth Ken Atkinson Wednesday April 7th 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of William “Kenneth” Atkinson, 78, of Mahone Bay, announces his passing on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at home.
Born in Armagh, Northern Ireland on July 19, 1942, he was the son of the late William Henry and Naomi Miriam (Hannah) Atkinson.
Ken’s interests included listening to Elvis and country music, enjoying a good cup of coffee with his friend, Belinda, being a silly old grandpa and being so proud of his family. Over the years he enjoyed renovating old houses, spending time in his gardens and travelling with family and friends, especially to Nashville and Memphis. He also loved listening to his wife’s (Heather) whispers to him just before he slept. Ken felt blessed with all these things in his life.
Ken is survived by his sons, Greg (Paula) and Scott (Rosalind), his grandchildren, Trent, Ceilie, Savannah and Liam, his nephew and niece, Hugh and Melissa, his great nephew, Christopher, and his special friend Belinda.
Ken was predeceased by his beloved wife, Heather in 2011, his parents and his brother, Jim and sister, Jean.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. A memorial service to celebrate Ken’s life will be held in the near future at Crossroads Church, Mahone Bay. Details of the service will be publically announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to SHAID Tree Animal Shelter, The Dawson Daisy or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
