William “Bill”‘s Obituary
William “Bill” Eugene Hobbs, aged 67, of Moose Jaw, SK went to be with his Lord and Saviour on June 10, 2021 after a difficult battle with Leukemia. Bill was born November 14, 1953 to Bill and Gene Hobbs. He was raised in Moose Jaw and attended Westmount School and Riverview Collegiate. He was predeceased by his parents, William & Gene Hobbs, in-laws Donald & Lorna MacLeod, and brother-in-law Allan MacLeod. Bill is survived by his wife Donna, daughters Dori-Anne (Darren) Petit and Shauna (Rodney) Audette; grandchildren: Hannah Audette, Tyler Petit, Evan Audette, Griffin Audette and Olivia Audette; brother and best friend Ted Hobbs; in-laws Joan (David) Styles, Ron (Carole) MacLeod, and Maxine MacLeod. “Boots” as he was fondly referred to by his fellow firefighters, served for the City of Moose Jaw Fire Department for 35 years and retired as Platoon Commander. Bill’s love for his family was first and foremost and his true passion was watching and cheering on his beloved grandchildren in all of their endeavors. Upon his retirement from the fire hall when asked what he was going to do with all of his free time, his answer was simple “enjoy my grandkids”. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Sunset Cemetery, with Della Ferguson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saskatchewan Professional Firefighters and Paramedics Burn Fund (spffpaburn.ca). In living memory of Bill, a memorial planting will be made by Jones-Parkview Funeral Services.
