Verne Marvyn Preston 2021

Verne Marvyn Preston ~ July 20th 1953 – September 8th 2021 ~ Verne was born in Havelock Ontario, the youngest child of Marvyn (d) and Evelyn (d). He was married to Cheryl (McBeth) in 1974. Dad to Shannon (Jason Lawrence) and Todd (Stephanie Wallis) and proud beyond belief Grandpa of Cooper Preston. Verne was predeceased by sister Joan Donaldson (Ralph) and brother Cliff (Janet d.). Survived by brother Albert (Lynn) and remembered with smiles by in-laws David McBeth (Rae) and Bonnie Forgrave (Dan) plus many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews. Verne lived his entire life in Asphodel-Norwood. He met Cheryl on a blind date in Toronto but quickly convinced her to move to Peterborough and then to a vacant family property where they renovated their wee house and have lived for 46 years. They farmed their land and had a small cow/calf operation for a number of years while Verne worked as an Industrial Electrician with IBEW local 894 Oshawa. He retired in 2007. As a husband, father & grandfather, Verne inspired by example, passing on his love of life & the great outdoors. He and Cheryl loved to camp and took every opportunity to grab the gear and go. A perfect day in Verne’s eyes was a roaring bonfire & cold brew shared with family and friends. Add some tunes & laughter and the day just got better. Those who knew Verne will remember his quirky sense of humour & often goofy stories. He had a certain way with words that generally made one laugh. He was one of the good guys … a loving, kind human being, always with a ready smile and much loved by those who knew him.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Verne Marvyn Preston 2021..
