Tom’s Obituary
Thomas Joseph Duggan was second child born to Thomas James Duggan and his second wife Delia Margaret Ryan in Camrose, Alberta, December 17, 1926.
Tom passed away peacefully on May 23, 2021 in Fairview Longterm Care at the age of 94 years.
On April 18, 1949, Tom married Audrey Elizabeth Wilcox in Camrose, Alberta. Together they raised nine children: Beth (Doug) Clayton, D’Arcy, Colleen Johnson, Dan (Rhonda Sopko), Jerry (Rhonda), Kathy (Dale) Beard, Lori (Peter Wall), Jane (Richard) Danielson and Susan (Dave) Chabot.
In 1952, Tom made a lifelong choice to embrace “AA.” It was life-changing. Tom ranched in the Camrose area until 1975, when the family moved to Fairview, AB. Tom’s sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Louis Beaulieu, had a great influence in this move and they farmed as neighbours until retirement.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and one sister. His beloved wife, Audrey, of 70 years passed away February 7, 2020 at the age of 93.
Tom is survived by one sister, Florence Beaulieu, one sister-in-law, Eva Allan, one brother-in-law, Dewy Fesner, as well as all nine children, eighteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
Tom had a passion for ranching and hard work. He retired from active farming and moved to town at the age of 80, but never quit touring around checking out the cows and crops.
In 2015, Tom & Audrey moved to Harvest Lodge in Fairview and this soon became home. The staff extended their love and care in making daily life full and memorable.
Many of the residents became very good friends with lots of shared chuckles and stories.
Tom’s final move was to Long Term Care after Audrey passed away in 2020. Thanks to all who cared for him.
Tom was a big man with a soft heart for little kids. He will be dearly missed.
A funeral service will be held July 3, 2021 at 11 am at the St. Thomas Moore church in Fairview. A lunch will follow at Friedenstal Hall.
