WALMSLEY, Timothy Andrew
Born: October 23, 1942 in Flatbush, Alberta
Died: May 12, 2021 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital
On Wednesday, May 12, 2021, Timothy Andrew Walmsley of Westlock, Alberta (formerly of Flatbush, Alberta) passed away at the age of 78 years old.
He will be remembered by his loving wife of 55 years, Charlotte, daughter Tammy Herrick, sons Mike (Sue), Lee (Sandy), TJ (Jill), son-in-law Terry Herrick, sisters Betty Munteanu and Peggy Pocha, brother-in-laws Terry Lievers, Denis Lievers (Joan), sister-in-laws Phyllis Thorkelson, Eunice Lievers, Jenny Lang (Brian), Kim Lievers (Dean), grandchildren Shanna, Erik, Andrid, Brennan, Brayton, Nichole, Dustin, McKenna, Kean, Jordan, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Katyanna, Caelan, Morrigan, Shae and Rowan, as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a whole lot of friends.
He was predeceased by his father and mother Gordon and Elda Walmsley, brother Bill, sisters Chris Milne and Ada Chomyszyn, brother-in-laws Nick Munteanu, Joe Pocha, Ron Milne, Pete Chomyszyn, Lorne Landon, and sister-in-law Marie Landon.
Tim will always be remembered for his sharp wit, ability to fix anything and for his athleticism. He loved hunting and fishing with family and friends and enjoyed life thoroughly. Many a neighbor benefitted from his ability to repair farm equipment and help with sick animals. At age 65 he decided that perhaps he should retire from playing ball. His sense of humor was known to all that ever had the pleasure of meeting him.
He was a jack-of-all-trades. He worked on the railroad, drove school bus, was a weed inspector, drove water and fuel truck, was a gas plant operator, served three terms as a councillor for MD 124, welded, helped with many different electrical projects, and found time to run a small farm.
At Tim’s request, there will not be a funeral service held. He wished to be cremated and placed next to his father. There will be a gathering of family and friends at a later date to carry out his final wishes.
