Thomas passed away peacefully at Arbour Heights Long-Term Care Home on June 9th at the age of 102. He was the loving and devoted husband for 65 years to the late Anne Laura (nee Nicol). Thomas was born August 27, 1918, in Saint John NB. to Reginald and Kathleen Wright. In his earlier years, he served as an infantry officer in the 2nd World War in Europe followed by a lengthy service in the Canadian Reserves. He accomplished a 42-year career with the TD Bank at various locations in Saint John, Madoc, Montreal, and Toronto. He retired in 1981 and relocated to Kingston to enjoy a long healthy retirement. He was very active for many years with the Kingston Lions Club where he achieved a lifetime membership status. Beloved father to Thomas Wright (Lesli) of Harrowsmith, Patricia McLauchlan (Ian) of Fort Saskatchewan AB. and Sandy Ranger (Dennis Caird) of Ottawa. Proud and cherished Grandad to Jennifer Buerfeind (Kevin), Karen McLauchlan, Craig McLauchlan (Krista), Bryan Blom (Tori), Matthew Blom (Kalie), Cameron Wright (Emily) and Jameson Wright. Adored Great Grandad to Rachel Buerfeind, Ryan Buerfeind, Benjamin McLauchlan, Siobhan McLauchlan, Katarina McLauchlan, Jackson Blom, Olivia Blom and Lincoln Blom.
On behalf of the Wright Family, a special thank you to all the Arbour Heights nursing home staff for the kindness, loving care and friendship so freely given to our Father.
In keeping with Covid-19 restrictions a family graveside service will be held at a later date.
Donations to the Kingston Lions Club would be much appreciated in Thomas’ memory.
