Thomas Cordingley 2021

Obituary of Thomas Cordingley
After a brief illness, Tom passed away in his 83rd year.
Born March 4th, 1938 in Clarkson, On. Oldest of 5 children, Tom is survived by his brother Ted and sister Lois. Predeceased by his brother Bob and sister Mandy.
Tom was father to 3 beloved children; Tom Jr, Jane and Jim. Proud grandpa or “poopa” to Abigail and Nicholas. Best buddy to Ted Jr. and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Tom spent his working life building and maintaining roadways. Starting in the 1950’s with Bramhall Construction. Then, in the early 1970’s Tom and his business partner started T & R Paving and he never looked back. He is yet to retire…
Tom’s leisure time was spent playing and coaching hockey. He played “old-timers” hockey well into his 70’s. Being a Habs fan, you can tell he knows his hockey.
He also spent many years fishing Lake Ontario and Lake Simcoe. Tom was an avid collector of trains and all things railroad, race cars or whatever he could wheel and deal.
Tom’s greatest pastime, however, was talking. Whether over the phone, the 2 way or in person, he had the “gift of gab”. Tom told many, many stories that many, many of us have heard many, many times.
Sadly, Tom left us at a time when we couldn’t visit and stay with him. This was very hard on us and even harder on Tom. Fortunately, the illness was short and Tom’s suffering was brief.
We must give a heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Birkdale Place and at the Milton District Hospital.
Rest in Peace Tom
