Therese Anita Marie Bendell
(nee Jeannotte)
Therese Bendell (Terry) passed away on Wednesday, March 17th at the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home at the age of 89 years.
Terry was born on January 23, 1932 in Laurier, MB to Patrick and Marie Jeannotte (nee Assailly). She received her education in Laurier and then went to work for Dr. Gendreau at the Ste. Rose Hospital. Terry moved to Winnipeg to pursue her career and in 1959, she met the love of her life Reginald (Jack) Bendell. They were married on October 10, 1959 and they started their family of 4 daughters Debbie, Cindy, Colleen and Sheila.
Terry and Jack enjoyed dancing and family gatherings. She enjoyed her life as a homemaker famous for her baking of homemade bread and raisin cookies that we are all still trying to perfect. Terry loved making them for her grandchildren. She did have a sweet tooth too and loved receiving homemade baking from all her family. Terry was a great Yahtzee player and a Search a Word professional!
They enjoyed camping, fishing, and many years of Jack driving her to Bingo. She was an avid knitter of afghans, baby shawls, dish clothes, slippers, scarves, mitts and toques. All of them beautiful gifts of love for all her children, grandchildren, extended family members and friend.
Terry was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1994.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish many wonderful memories; her children Debbie Soucy (Ernest), Cindy Beasse (Roland), Colleen Soucy (Gilbert), Sheila Nadiak (Mark), her grandchildren Tricia (Greg), Sheldon (Chantel), Bryce (Nadine), Breann (Phil), Jordan, Chad, Kiera (Sean), Rory, Wendy (Drew), Devon (Savannaha), Adam, Kayla, Owen (Ashley), Drew (Deanna) as well as 21 great grandchildren. Terry will be sadly missed and loved by her brothers, sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law along with numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A celebration of Terry’s life will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Laurier Campground, Laurier, MB. Interment in the Laurier RC Cemetery.
Should friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Terry to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
