Obituary of Terrence Joseph Bowlen
The passing of Terrence “TJ” Joseph Bowlen, husband of Rita McCarthy of Fredericton, NB, occurred on December 23, 2021 at Hospice Fredericton. Born on February 28, 1948 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Charles and Evelyn (Donovan) Bowlen. Terry worked as a Forest Ranger for the Department of Natural Resources.
In addition to his loving wife, Terry is survived by his children, Robert “Bob” Bowlen of Ontario and Erin Bowlen of Fredericton; siblings, Charlie Bowlen (Gaynell), Judy Leavitt (Kenneth), Bonnie O’Donnell (Frank), Mary Ellen Bowlen, Tim Bowlen, Janice Bowlen, Theresa Guitard (Marc), all of Fredericton and Mike Bowlen (Marg) of Nova Scotia; chosen brother, Sheldon Geldart (Gayle); mother-in-law, Antoinette McCarthy; brother-in-law, Michael McCarthy (Gizele); sister-in-law, Margaret McCarthy (Joan Brown); close friends Barb and John Flinn, Jack and Yvonne Murphy; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Terry was predeceased by father-in-law, Allard McCarthy; sister-in-law, Alice McCarthy-Overink.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of York Funeral Home. A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Fredericton Hospice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
