~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Terrance Solberg went to his heavenly home on Sunday, April 12, 2020 with his wife, Marion, of nearly sixty years by his side.
Terrance was born on December 15, 1933, at Herbert, SK, to Berent & Tillie Solberg, and grew up on their family’s farm near Gouldtown, SK. Terrance spent most of his life on the farm, devoting his time and love to the land he worked, to the animals he raised, and most importantly to his cherished family and friends. On June 10, 1960, Terrance married Marion Bradley, and they raised two children together. Never one to be idle, Terrance was also actively involved in his community and his church for most of his life. Terrance loved the time he spent curling with his many teams, the countless hours he dedicated to coaching fastball with the Vikings, hockey with the Cubs, his time playing music during church services, playing with Archie & the Boys, and in the Herbert Parade.
Terrance always enjoyed a good meal at the end of a day of working outdoors, and he appreciated quiet evenings at home playing guitar and mandolin or woodworking in his shop. Terrance’s greatest joy, though, was the invaluable time he spent with his children and grandchildren, and he considered himself blessed to have so many loved ones.
Terrance will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Marion; his two children, his son, Jarret (Cheryl) Solberg, Craven, SK, and his daughter, Theresa Daniels of Toronto, ON; his seven grandchildren, Megan, Jamie (Karl), Rachel, Raven (Shaun), Liam, Cailin, and Shannon; as well as by numerous beloved members of his extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, Berent & Tillie Solberg; a sister, Susan Solberg; and by his Aunts & Uncles – Aunt Olga Solberg, Uncle Oscar (Thelma) Solberg, Uncle Chris (Edna) Solberg, Aunt Ragna (Jack) Ducharme, Uncle Norman (Marge) Nelson, Aunt Nora (Reinhardt) Muri, and Aunt Agnes (Oliver) Moe.
Terrance will be remembered for his seemingly endless kindness, humility, patience, and generosity. When asked to describe his greatest accomplishments, Terrance characteristically responded, “I am a simple man, and anything I have accomplished has been for the joy of doing.” He lived a life with no regrets, and although we will miss him immensely, we will always be grateful for the example he set for us and for the love he showed to us.
The Private Family Interment Service was held at the Highland Cemetery.
