Stella Cooper

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving Mother/Granny/Nini, Stella Cooper on Thursday, June 3rd, 2021 at the age of 87.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas, parents Stephen & Anne, sister Joanne and brother-in-law Tom; Stella will be lovely remembered by her sons Marty (Nancy) and Rick (Carol), her grandchildren Danny (Amanda), Beth (Jeff) and Tyler and her brother Nick Medwyk. Stella will be fondly missed by her extended family, nieces, nephews and friends.
Stella was born on December 3rd, 1933 in Depot Harbour (Parry Sound), Ontario. She moved to Toronto with her family in 1943. She and Tom married on June 26th, 1954 and raised their family in Etobicoke. Stella rejoined the workforce after raising her sons and worked at the Holiday Inn for over 20 years where she made numerous friends and had a successful career as the HR manager.
Stella shared a love of needlepoint and quilting with her late sister Joanne; Tyler will forever cherish the beautiful quilt his Nini made for him. Stella loved to do crossword puzzles and Sudoku, was an avid and fast reader, she could finish a novel in under a day.
Family was the most important to Stella, she was the happiest when she was with her family especially during Christmas. Stella loved to cook and bake for her family, who can forget the dozens of cookies she baked for her family at Christmas. The towering Black Forest cakes, her “Grandma Cooper’s” cheesecakes, the apple pies and apple cakes she baked for her extended family at family gatherings.
Stella was witty, intelligent and always made those around her feel welcomed and loved. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will like to express sincere thanks to the staff at the Trillium Hospital, Sunrise Mississauga and the PSWs that cared for her.
