Sheila Pollock (Née Lepofsky)
Of Ottawa Ontario, passed away peacefully on August 26 2021, at the age of 92. Sheila is survived by her three sons, Michael, Barry, and Steven, and her grandchildren Joshua and Julie. She was predeceased by her husband David, her parents Samuel and Pearl, and her sister Constance “Connie” Glube. Sheila was born on Jun 8 1929, and grew up in the Glebe in Ottawa. She went to McGill University, and shortly after graduation met and married David Pollock. She and David were happily married for 50 years, until his passing in 2001. Sheila was a devoted wife and mother, and brought a bright smile to every place and person she visited. She lived for many years in Washington DC, where she taught nursery school children for many years. She also lived for times in Santiago Chile, Mexico City, and Geneva Switzerland. Sheila moved back to Ottawa with David when he retired. She later spent many happy years at the Palisades retirement home, and her final years were spent at Hillel House in Ottawa, surrounded by wonderful staff and her personal care assistant and friend, Josephine Bobiles.
Sheila had a bright smile, a sharp wit, and great compassion. She will be dearly missed by everyone she has touched.
