Obituary For Sharon Margaret Price
February 1, 1940 – June 24, 2021
Sharon Price, age 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Grande Prairie, Alberta with her loving family by her side. She was born February 1, 1940 in Brandon, Manitoba. She is survived by her four children Jim Zwick (Norma), Patricia “Patti” Zwick (Doug Starr), Shawna Parkin (Rod), Melissa “Missy” Zwick and her brother Deric Hutchings. She was a very proud grandma to Allan Zwick, whom she was predeceased by, April Vandermaaten, Matthew Dejong, Megan Dejong, Ryan Parkin, Erica Zwick, Danielle Sutherland, Travis Sutherland, Step-grandchildren Aaron Starr and Sarah Starr. As well as 3 great grandchildren Alexandra, Ashlyn & Jayda Vandermaaten and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon was an avid golfer and took as much time as possible to hit the Poplar Hills Golf Course in Fort Nelson, BC. If you knew her I am sure you have a crocheted afghan, as she spent a lot of time crocheting and knitting (donating to the senior’s homes). She was most noted for her smarts, she could NOT be beat at any Trivia game. She even got the final question on Jeopardy correct the night before she passed. Last but not least, she loved music and going to every Celtic Thunder concert within a 500 km radius.
Sharon grew up in Brandon, Manitoba and moved to the Dawson Creek/Fort St . John with her parents Eric & Jessie Hutchings. While working as an usher at the local Dawson Creek movie theater, she met Vern Zwick and later got married. They moved to Fort Nelson, BC for a 5 year stint, which ended up being 35+ years. She was predeceased by Vern and later on started a new chapter when she married Robert “Bob” Price. They enjoyed cruises and travelling together. She could also be seen helping him with his lodge at Toad River. Sadly, she was predeceased by him as well.
Sharon was a faithful wife, loving mother, loyal friend and overall kind human being. She will be forever missed by all. Rest Peacefully Beautiful Soul.
A Celebration of Life will be held at her daughter Patti’s home on July 11th from 2 – 4 pm.
