Obituary of Sergio “Serge” Tesolin
TESOLIN, Sergio Francesco (Serge)
March 30, 1932 – July 19, 2021
Sergio passed away peacefully on Monday, July 19, 2021 at the age of 89 at Sun Parlor Long Term Care Home in Leamington. Father of Deanna Owen (Ken), Jamie, Lara Alexander (Michael), and Andrea. Step-father of Jeff Goldthorpe. Grandfather of Morgan, Natalie, Kendall, Robyn, Riley, and Elisabeth. Great-grandfather of Madeleine and Callysta. Brother of Ada Verolin (Pietro, 2017) and Jean. Predeceased by parents Giacomo (1986) and Marcella (2013). Remembered by close friends, niece, nephew, and cousins in Canada, the United States, and Italy. Serge was a star player with the Windsor AKO Junior Football Team that won the Canadian Championship in 1952. He excelled as a winning stock car driver at Dayus Raceway and at raceways across the United States. In 2009, he was inducted into the Checker Flag Speedway Hall of Fame. Serge was employed in sales at London Life and Union Gas before crafting his trade as a self-employed contractor & tile setter. A great deal of thanks and gratitude is due to the management and staff at the Sun Parlor Home, Leamington, especially Shane and the staff on 2nd East where Serge was so well taken care of in his short time there. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Windsor and Es County or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. As per Serge’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no visitation or formal service will be held. Arrangements entrusted to the Cremation Society of Windsor & Es County.
