Death Notice
EVANS, Ruth Colgan – Peacefully at Manor Village, London on December 22, 2021 age 99. Ruth was born on March 16, 1922 in Blanshard Township to Rosa (McIntosh) and Milton Evans. Remembered fondly by sister-in-law Jean Evans and by nieces and nephews: Donna Kricorissian, Anne Greco, John McIntosh, Bob McIntosh, Mary McCutcheon, Ruth Anne Joseph, Linda McLellan, Jane Foley, Sue McKechnie and Faye Eybergen. Sister of the late Olive White, Mabel McIntosh, Gordon Evans, James Evans. Predeceased by niece Margaret McIntosh and nephew Keith White. Aunt Ruth will be missed by her large circle of friends and especially her church family at New St. James Presbyterian Church.
Ruth graduated from Stratford Normal School (Teachers College) in 1940 and spent many years enriching the lives of the students that she taught in the Thorndale and London areas. After retiring from teaching, she was a volunteer in the gift shops of Victoria and University Hospitals. A very active member of New St. James Presbyterian Church, she took part in many groups and cherished her relationship with her church family.
Aunt Ruth was dedicated to her family and enjoyed celebrating all special occasions with them throughout the years. Until recently, she never missed sending a birthday or anniversary card to each and every one, even as the generations grew!
A private service will be conducted at Harris Funeral Home on December 29, followed by interment at St. Marys Cemetery. For an invitation to view the service by Zoom, please email your request to: info@harrisfuneralhome.ca
