Obituary
Passed away suddenly but peacefully at the St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in St. John ‘s on July 28, 2021 Russell Eurvell Mayo of Avondale, NL.
Russell was born in Burin and was the youngest of a family of thirteen. He was predeceased by his: parents, Alfred and Elizabeth, brothers; Fletcher, Roland, Samuel, Gerald, Lester, Arthur, Lones, Calvin and Harvey. Leaving to mourn and to celebrate his life are his wife of forty years Elizabeth, sisters; Vermuda of Red Deer, Alberta and Shirley (Eric) of Ottawa, Ontario, brother Alfred (Jean) of Minden, Ontario and several nephews and nieces. He will also be fondly remembered by the Cantwell families.
The family would like to give special thanks to Russell’s brother-in-law Joe and his wife Carol Ann who were very kind to Russell on many occasions.
Russell had a dry sense of humour and a kind heart. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation will be in keeping with Covid-19 Regulations and will take place on Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. The funeral Service will be private. For those wishing to attend the funeral, please register at the visitation or contact Dunphy’s funeral home by Sunday evening. The Funeral Service to celebrate Russell’s life will be held at Assumption Catholic Church, Avondale on Monday, August 2, 2021 at 11:00 am with cremation to follow.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Russell’s memory may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or a charity of choice.
