Roderick Alexander (Roddy) MacKinnon
St. Margaret’s Village
It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Roderick Alexander MacKinnon, 58, of St. Margaret’s Village on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at home.
Born in Neil’s Harbour on June 6, 1963, he was the son of the late Murdock and Susan MacKinnon.
He is survived by his pride and joy, son Roderick Bradley MacKinnon (Isabel), life partner Normie, 12 grandchildren, Douglas (Kendra), Dayna (Nathan), Michael (Rebecca), Gabriel, Danielle, Daphne, Marisa, Preston, Ciara, Hunter, Robert, and Carli. and great-grandchild Haley. Also left to mourn are his siblings Tony (Winnie), Christina (James), Helen (Richard), Carol (Robert), Christopher (Jolene), and Scott (Mandy), and 20 nieces and nephews.
Roddy will forever be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and his beloved dog Cheyanne.
He loved being on the ocean and working in the woods, alongside his son and grandsons.
Visitation for immediate family will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the home of Roddy and Normie from 11am – 7 pm.
The funeral service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Roddy’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
