Bob was born and raised in Kimberley. In his youth he spent his winters on the ski jump and summers biking to his favorite fishing holes in Cherry Creek.
He was proud to be a member of the Kimberley Hobo Baseball team. On one away game, the ball flew over his head in the outfield and landed in a rhubarb patch. His teammates said all they could se was rhubarb flying everywhere as Bob tried to find the ball earning his nickname “Rhubarb”.
Bob moved to Vancouver for work and spent his free time curling, golfing and gathering friends.
He returned to Kimberley in 2007 and found a second family at the Kimbrook Manor who, like most people, could not resist falling in love with his gentle nature, cute smile and remarkable laugh.
Bob is survived by his twin sons, Keith and Kevin; granddaughter Jessica, great granddaughter Paisley Mae; sisters Janet, Maryanne, Cathy and brothers-in-law, Harry and Jim, many nieces, nephews and cousins and the wonderful people at the Kimbrook Manor and a special pal Sukie.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mamie and sister Joanne.
Bob led a simple life and wanted no fuss made of him. There will be no service so simply remember him with a smile and a beer.
In memory of Bob, kindly consider a donation to the local SPCA.
Don’t cry because it’s over,
Smile because it happened.
