Obituary
O’Brien, Rita (1938-2021) – Rita passed away peacefully at the West Nipissing General Hospital on Thursday Sept. 9th, 2021 at the age of 83 years.
She is survived by her children Dave (Claire Beland) and Mike (Mignonne). She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Michelle Lajeunesse (Shaun), Melanie Belanger (Guy), Aline O’Brien (Yves-André Dufour), Steve O’Brien (Val Arcand Veselisin) and by her great grandchildren Mia Belanger, Dillon Lajeunesse and Noah Dufour. Also survived by her brothers Léo Martin (Odile) and Bob Martin (Dawna – deceased). Rita will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Aldoria and Marguerite Martin, her sister Louise Bertrand (Paul – surviving).
Family will be receiving friends at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Rd, on Friday September 17th from 1 until 3 pm. A celebration of life will follow at 3pm at the funeral home. As per current COVID 19 directives the total number of attendees is limited, social distancing requirements must be respected, and masks or face coverings are required inside the funeral home.
Donations in memory of Rita to the West Nipissing General Hospital Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
