Richard Laurence Evans
1952-2021
Richard Laurence Evans
– age 69, of Greenwich passed away peacefully, surrounded by
family, on Saturday, November 27, 2021, in the Valley Hospice,
Kentville, after a brief battle with cancer. After graduating from
Prince Andrew High School in Dartmouth, he worked briefly as an
orderly at the Nova Scotia Hospital. He went on to work a number of
years with Canada Post. He was a bit of a loner and went to live with
his parents following retirement from the post office. He helped to
take care of his grandmother in the later years of her life and did
the same for his mother. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Dick
and Merle (Walker) Evans; his younger brother, Robert and his niece,
Courtney Fossett. He is survived by his two sisters, Lynn Fossett,
Kentville; Gillian (Greg) Mitchell, Greenwich and his two nieces,
Paige Fossett and Rachel (Mitchell) Tran. We would like to thank
Valley Hospice for the kindness and compassion they showed Richard and
to all of us, they truly made his last weeks comfortable.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral
service, by request. Interment will take place at a later date in the
Mount Denson Cemetery. Donations in Richard’s memory may be
made to Valley Hospice Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to
the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
