Richard Cyril Brazeau
1937 – 2021
Retired from General Motors, Oshawa – 28 years
Passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Friday, October 1, 2021, in his 84th year. He leaves behind his wife Marion (Clark) Brazeau of 61 years. Loving father of Rick Brazeau (Kerry Lafrance) of Terrace Bay, Terry Brazeau (Arlene) of Eganville, Donna Brazeau (Stan Matthie) of Brockville and Gary Brazeau of Slave Lake, Alberta. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Ashley Marshall, Holly Dunster (Mike), Brandon Marshall (Kyara Hamilton), Rachel Gould (Jesse), Rudy, Dylan and Mariah Brazeau; and by his great grandchildren Landan, Brantley and Zoey Dunster, Caleb, Brennen and Gracie Vanderspank, Landan and Cooper Marshall, William Brazeau and Isla Gould. Also survived by his sister Joanie Ruddy of Pembroke.
Known as Popa, he cherished spending time with everyone especially his grandkids and great grandkids who made his day and always put a smile on his face. Richard loved to listen to fiddle music and dancing with the grandkids, the outdoors and helping everyone. He enjoyed cutting firewood, gardening and sitting at Blockhouse Island where he looked forward to seeing vintage cars and the ships going by.
Special thanks to Donna Brazeau and Stan Matthie for opening up their home as it was Richard’s wish to pass away peacefully there with his family. We are also very grateful for the amazing care and help provided by the St. Elizabeth Home Care Nursing Team and the Bayshore PSW’s.
A celebration of life will be planned and announced at a later date.
