It is with deep sadness that the family of the late RAYMOND JOSEPH HICKEY of Grand Le Pierre announces his passing. Raymond passed away at Dr. Albert O’Mahony Memorial Manor in Clarenville on Monday, June 21st, 2021 at the age of 92.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his sons, Gus (Marjorie) of Grand Le Pierre, Maxwell (Tanya) of Grand Le Pierre and Freeman (Shelley) of Medicine Hat, AB; daughters, Doreen (Calvin) and Frances (Wayne) both of Grand Le Pierre; 15 grandchildren, Bradley (Pam), Roderick (Josephine), Sonny (Wanda), Lisa (Trevor), Megan (Heather), Dominic (Boaz), Renee (Cameron), Dustin (Patricia), Brittany (George), Dylan, Jordan, Brooklyn, Tamerel (Tim), Taryn (Shawn), and Zackery; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, George James (Elizabeth), Peter (Rita), Frank (Gladys), Michael (Judy), and Pierce (Marion); sister-in-law, Dinah; family friend, Mary Jane Hickey; plus a large number of family and friends.
Raymond was predeceased by his wife, Martha; grandsons, Tyrone and Patrick; brothers, Ernest (Sarah Ann), Charles, Leo, and Patrick (Marjorie); sister, Elizabeth Ann; parents, William & Frances; and parents-in-law, Henry and Julia.
The Hickey Family will be accepting visitors at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Grand Le Pierre on Wednesday, June 23rd beginning at 7:00 pm and Thursday, June 24th, all day.
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions this will be a walk through visitation with a maximum of 20 people in the church at one time. Everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the church and masks are required.
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions in place, a private Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 25th, 2021 at 2:00 pm from St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Grand Le Pierre.
Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Grand Le Pierre.
In-lieu of flowers, donations in Raymond’s memory may be made to St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Grand Le Pierre.
The Hickey Family would like to thank the staff at Dr. Albert O’Mahony Memorial Manor for the wonderful care given to Raymond over the past 3 years.
