Pierre F. Dubé
1960-2021
We are profoundly saddened by the passing of the Honourable
Pierre F. Dubé on Saturday, September 11, 2021. Pierre was
loved by many people, and his three main loves were his girls, his
wife Heather (Murray), his two beautiful daughters Sasha (Kris) and
Breanna (Mark) and of course his two dogs Heidi and
Willow.
Pierre was predeceased by his father Fernand Dubé.
He was a proud big brother to Jean (Johanne), France and Anik
(Mathieu). He also leaves his mother Monique (Maltais), father-in-law
Ron Murray and Elizabeth (Armstrong), his brother-in-law and sister
in-law, Mike Murray and Amy Mooers (Morten) and of course his nieces
and nephews, Alexandra and Nicholas Dubé, Jordan and Liam
Babcock, Jacob and Emma Allain, Emma and Lily Murray and Keaton and
Bishop Mooers.
Pierre practised law in Campbellton serving people from all
walks of life. He provided the same care and attention to those of
little means as he would for his most affluent clients. He never
hesitated to act as a friend of the court providing pro bono service
to those who required his help. He never showed animosity towards
opposing counsel; to the contrary, he guided young lawyers and
provided great support to them. For the past 17 years, Pierre served
as a judge of the provincial court of New-Brunswick. He initially
served in Campbellton and most recently in fredericton. He presided
over criminal trials, in both official languages, in all parts of the
province. His career on the bench was marked by a keen intellect
coupled with sound common sense. In more recent years, he mentored and
guided new appointees to the court, providing them with sage counsel
and advice. He will be sadly missed by all his
colleagues.
Upon returning to Fredericton where he studied at St. Thomas
and UNB, he continued his career as a Judge until he passed.
His favourite pastime was spent with family and friends and he loved
to prepare a beautiful meal. If you were lucky he would
offer some of his freshly baked bread.
Pierre loved his home in Campbellton, and particularly loved
his cottage on the Restigouche. He loved to travel there on the
weekends and spend it on the river with his children and wife and then
dog, Scorpie.
Summers in Fredericton were recently spent at Grand Lake
where he loved to drink his coffee in the morning, look at the lake
and end off the day by the fire, listening to music and looking at the
lake.
Pierre you will be missed and never forgotten. We love you
and will cheers you by the fire.
