Paula Petrie 2021

Paula Petrie
Sunrise: June 11, 1958
Sunset: December 15, 2021
A life interrupted. Suddenly and with family at her side, Paula passed away on December 15, 2021 in her 64th year. Predeceased by her parents, Terry and Thelma Hryhor and sister Iris. Loving wife of her high school sweetheart, Brian Petrie, and devoted mother to Meagan and Lyndsay. Fondly remembered by her sisters, Sandra (Roberto), Sheree, and Ellen (Oliver) and nephew, Alexander.
In 1983 after a lengthy courtship, Brian and Paula married. Motherhood came naturally to her when she was blessed with the birth of Meagan followed a short while after by Lyndsay. She was also a model of sisterhood. Loving her was easy.
Paula spent her professional life in the Human Resources industry, having worked for multiple organizations in the course of a 35-year career. She was well-respected by her peers in her profession, sought after for her expertise, strong work ethic and meticulousness.
She and Brian travelled the world together, entertained family on many occasions and enjoyed golf, weather permitting. Paula had many gifts and talents that we all admired; an aptitude for interior design, an ease for entertaining, and baked the best brownies ever.
We will forever miss her beautiful smile, contagious laughter, and her grace. As anticipated, we are bereft.
Private funeral arrangements will be held on Tuesday December 28, 2021, with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Toronto Star Santa Claus Fund.
Family and friends are invited to view the Funeral Mass on Tuesday December 28,2021 at 12:00 pm.

  1. Our deepest sympathy to Paulas’ family for her untimely loss.
She will be greatly missed by her neighbours.
We did not know her well, but whenever we met her, her beautiful smile lit up the day. We shared a great love for dogs, and always enjoyed stopping to chat with her and pet her puppy, Milly. I am thankful that I chatted with her last Monday.
Gone from this world way too soon, but I guess God needed her up there in Heaven to cheer them up.
    Shine on Paula.

I have many fond memories of Paula, form her childhood, later of her wedding to Brian. Then, of Paula as a Mother to Meagan and Lyndsay .Later of Paula’s hospitality and the family celebrations and most recently of our chat and the visit at the wedding in July in Nipawin, SK.

Paula will be greatly missed , Memory Eternal.

  4. We are shocked and deeply saddened by Paula’s unexpected passing. She was certainly easy to be with and a gracious hostess. We always looked forward to seeing her every summer cottaging in Muskoka. Our prayers go out to Peach, Megan, Lyndsay, and all of Paula’s family and friends. May God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, Courage to change the things we can, And Wisdom to know the difference.
With all our love, Kim and Bruce Wilson
