Paul Smith 19582021

Paul Smith
1958-2021
It is with great sadness, that the family of Paul Smith
announces his passing June 26,2021. He was born in Moncton on June
26,1958, to the late Eldred and Ruth (Furlotte) Smith, and was one of
10 siblings.
Paul was a kind soul with the ability to talk to anyone about
anything. He was not afraid to chat up random strangers in the grocery
store. He was also known by many with a giving heart. You knew you
could count on him to be there for you with anything he could
offer.
He spent several years as a cadet before moving on to the
Navy in February of 1982, before finally being released in
2004. Paul loved spending time with his family and was a man
who held passion for his job as a cook. Finally in 89 he would meet
his future Wife, who had been someone he met in 82 through cadets and
was reunited with.
Paul will be deeply missed by his loving spouse of 31 years
Colleen (Hinks) Smith; his children Steven Hirtle, Richard Hirtle
(Tori), Crystal Smith and Ryan Smith; his brothers Bruce Smith
(Scott), Reid Smith (Ivie); his sisters Kathy Melanson (Ed) and Tammy
Melanson (Mike); his in-laws Jean and Richard Hinks; his
brother-in-law Daniel Hinks (Marcia), Maurice Leger, as well as his
many nieces, nephews, brother and sister in-laws, extended family and
friends.
In addition to his parents. Paul was predeceased by his
brothers Glenn, Allan, Terry, his twin Peter, and his sister Dianna
Leger.
A public visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on
Sunday, July 4th, 2021 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm. For those who wish,
memorial donations may be made to the Oromocto SPCA.
