Pasquale Bruno-Bossio Thursday July 22nd 2021

Pasquale Bruno-Bossio passed away after a struggle with cancer on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospice. Pasquale managed his illness with strength and grace. It was a short time from diagnosis to his final breath, and not once through all the complications he suffered did he complain. On his final day, he was surrounded by his family, who he adored more than anything else in the world.
Pasquale was born on October 20, 1945 in Grimaldi, Cosenza Italy, the third of four children born to Emilio Bruno-Bossio and Delfina Vetere. At the age of 18, Pasquale served with the Italian Military where was stationed in Northern Italy. On December 28, 1967 he married Nella Pucci-Daniele. Pasquale worked for several years in Germany before immigrating to Thunder Bay in September of 1972 along with his wife and daughter Delfina. Pasquale had a passion for gardening, wine making and watching soccer. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirit. Pasquale was a member of the Labourers’ International Union Local 607, St. Anthony’s Church and the Italian Cultural Centre.
Pasquale was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother-in-law, Giuseppe Pucci-Daniele and Antonia Bermardo-Ciddio, his daughter Antonella, his sister Rosa Bruno-Bossio, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Emilio (Maria) Pucci, Vittorio (Ida) Pucci and Rosa Bruno. He will be forever in the hearts of his wife Nella and his children: Delfina (Robert) Trevisan, Tonina Enns and Emilio. His death leaves a great void in the lives of his grandchildren Peter, Joseph, Bruno, Andrew and Elizabeth. He will be missed by his brother Geniale (Pina) Bruno-Bossio, sister Maria (Tomaso) Bazzu and his sister-in-law Teresina (Carmeno) Fata who all reside in Italy. In Thunder Bay, brothers-in-law Salvatore (Cathy) Pucci and Fiore (Lina) Pucci, and in British Columbia he will be lovingly remembered by uncle Fortunato (late Carmela) Vetere and his aunt Nina (Joe) Jacoy. Multi generations of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives throughout North America and Italy also survive.
Funeral services for Pasquale will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 when family and friends will gather for the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:30 a.m. in St. Anthony’s R.C. Church celebrated by Rev. Luigi Filippini. Those wishing attend the Mass may do so by registering on Pasquale’s page at www.sargentandson.com or calling 345-5351. Visitation for friends will be held in the church for 1 hour prior to the Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers memorials to the T.B.R.H.S. Foundation-Northern Cancer Fund would be appreciated.
