Ovila Daigle
1937-2021
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joseph Ovila
Daigle announce his passing on Thursday, December 16th, 2021. Born in
Pointe Sapin, NB, he was the son of the late Arthur and Alice
(Richard) Daigle and the husband of Geraldine (Doiron)
Daigle.
In addition to his wife of 59 years Geraldine of Burton, NB,
Ovila is survived by son Gerald Daigle (Linda Tremblay) of Burton, NB;
daughters Rose Daigle-Basque (the late Gilles Basque) of Burton, NB
and Rina Guimond (Claude) of Saint-Louis -de-Kent; Grandson
Jean-Bernard Daigle (Amy Boyle) of Salisbury, NB and brother-in-law
Adrien Mazerolle.
In addition to his parents, Ovila was predeceased by his
sister Yolande Mazerolle and infant sisters Jeanette and Yvette as
well as his son-in-law Gilles Basque.
A visitation was held from 2-4 PM, Sunday, December 19, 2021
at the Oromocto Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held on
Tuesday, December 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 and Wednesday, December 22 from
9-10:30 am at Thompson’s Funeral Home in St. Louis de Kent,
NB. A funeral mass will be held at Église paroissiale
catholique Saint-Louis-des-Français at 11AM, Wednesday,
December 22, 2021. Due to current provincial regulations, masks, proof
of double vaccination and government issued identification will be
required for entry to both the visitations and service. Memorial
donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the
Oromocto Public Hospital Foundation.
