Obituary of Nova Axford
Axford, Nova Carol of Aylmer passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in her 78th year. Beloved wife of Dan Axford. Dear mother of Tim Sparling, Christa Sparling(Paul Attwell), Andrea Kleiman(Steve) and step-mother of Donna Axford and Christine Lavoie(Dwayne). Loving grandmother of Brandon, Zachary(Veronica), Tyler Steenbergen, Alexandria, Rebecca(Evan) and Millie Mae Sparling, Nathan and Eric Kleiman. Step-grandmother of Jesse Derbyshire(Tina), Matthew Axford(Summer), Kyle Lavoie and Ainsley Attwell. Great-grandmother of Aidan Miles. Step-great-grandmother of Desmond and Clayton Derbyshire. Nova was a graduate of South Waterloo Memorial, School of Nursing, Cambridge, Ontario. She was recipient of Bedside Nursing Award. Nova was dedicated to the nursing profession and maintained lifelong friendships with her classmates. She retired from the Ontario Police College to fight her long and courageous battle against cancer. Her greatest joy came from her family. She enjoyed reading, curling, golf, travel and the environment. Nova was a volunteer in the community with St. Paul’s United Church, Aylmer School Programs, Cancer Research and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Born in Woodstock, Ontario on May 26, 1944, daughter of the late Frederick and Mae (Housworth) Bertrand. Visitation at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday 1-4 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 11:00 am.
