Born in Gander, NL to Eric and the late Dorothy (Verge) Clarke, she grew up close to her large extended family. Nancy leaves to mourn her father, Eric and brother, David (Linda) of Gander, uncle Graham P. Verge of St. John’s, as well as her many cousins and friends. Nancy’s sense of style, grace and generosity were known and appreciated by everyone who knew and loved her. Known as “Fancy Nancy” by her young cousins she had a 42-year career in the Airline Industry and was employed with Air Canada at the time of her death where she was affectionately called “Nancy Speaking”, a testament to her consummate social skills and throwback to when she worked as a switchboard operator for EPA. Her passions were travel, fashion and textiles, a perfect day would be would be visiting the Batta Shoe Museum in Toronto, however she adored the simple pleasures of a drive to the South Shore and a picnic lunch just as much. Her favorite pastime in the city was a walk in the Public Gardens. Funeral service will take place on Thursday September 23, 2021 at 2:00pm at Barrett’s Chapel, 328 Hamilton Avenue.
