A beautiful lady has passed away on June 21, 2021 at 92 years of age at the Amherstburg Neighbourhood in The Village of St Clair in Windsor Ontario. Monique was the daughter of Lucien and Emilia Gravel of Quebec City. She was predeceased by her brother Benoit Gravel, her brother Raymond Gravel, her sister Suzanne Cloutier and her brother Jean-Louis Gravel. She is survived by her sister Thérèse Simonsen.
Monique was the founder of L’Alliance Française de Windsor, a founding member of St Jerome Church and influencial in bringing Radio Canada to Windsor. Monique will fondly be remembered for her most spectacular Christmas events, for her family and friends, “Réveillon de Noel” featuring the music of her cousin Richard Verreau.
Monique was the wife of the late Dr Alphonse Emile Le Blanc. She will be lovingly remembered by her surviving children and their families, Roch Le Blanc and wife Lynda Le Blanc of Bangor Maine, Pierre LeBlanc and his wife Lyse LeBlanc of Kingsville Ontario, Denyse LeBlanc of Switzerland, Madeleine LeBlanc-Reiser and husband Henry Reiser of British Columbia and that of her predeceased loving son John-Marc Le Blanc.
Monique was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on July 5th at the Family First Funeral Home 3260 Dougal Avenue South Windsor from 7 to 9 pm. 519-969-5841
The funeral mass will be held on July 6th 2021 at St Jerome Church in Windsor at 10 am. A private cemetery service will be held following the Mass.
Covid 19 regulations will be required.
The family has requested that any donations be sent to Alzheimer Research and to Saint Jerome Church.
On Monday, July 5, 2021 reservations and personal face coverings are required to attend visitation from 7-9 p.m. at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841. On Tuesday, July 6, 2021 reservations and personal face coverings are required to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Jerome Church at 10 a.m. You can reserve your time for visitation or seat for Mass at FamiliesFirst.ca (RSVP) or by calling directly. (Please note due to COVID 19 regulations attendance for cemetery services may be limited, interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery). On Tuesday, a livestream link of the Mass will be available on Monique’s online profile.

La maman enchanteresse de Roch, Pierre, Denyse, Madeleine-Alphonsine et de son Marc, lui décédé en novembre 1981.
Elle connaissait Henry Reiser époux de Madeleine-Alphonsine, Lynda Le Blanc, épouse de Roch et Lyse Carrière, épouse de Pierre.
Ses 12 petits enfants, se rappelleront d’elle et ses 5 arrières petits-enfants entendront d’elle.
Elle laisse Charles et Claude fils de Louis et Angéline LeBlanc, ainsi qu’au Québec Nicole, Jean-Claude et Lise enfants de Benoît et Jeannine Gravel, Sylvie et Jacques enfants de Yves et Susanne Cloutier, Nathalie fille de Raymond et Hélène Gravel, Linda et notre Peter, lui décédé en octobre 2020, enfants de Simon et Thérèse Simonsen.
Nous nous souviendrons de son don du répertoire, son sens du beau et de ses Noëls magnifiques qui retentissaient de la voix de Richard Verreau, son cousin.
Parmi ses plus grands œuvres : elle fut la donatrice la plus généreuse de l’Alliance Française de Windsor et de Radio Canada à Windsor.
Le lundi 5 juillet 2021, les réservations et les couvre-visages personnels sont obligatoires pour assister aux visites de 19 h à 21 h. chez Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841. Le mardi 6 juillet 2021, les réservations et les couvre-visages personnels sont requis pour assister à la messe des funérailles à l’église St. Jerome à 10 h. (Veuillez noter qu’en raison de la réglementation COVID 19, la participation aux services du cimetière peut être limitée, inhumation au cimetière Heavenly Rest). Mardi, un lien en direct de la messe sera disponible sur le profil en ligne de Monique.
