Michael Neuman
Left earth very suddenly on August 7th, 2021 in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was married to Elayne for 51 years, devoted father to Mindy and Gary, and loving grandfather to Laura, Nina, and Kyan. Michael lived a full life after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University, and a degree from Macdonald College where he earned his teaching degree. His students in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics spoke appreciatively of the way he managed to bring humor to the classroom while maintaining the rigor of the disciplines. Michael was simultaneously working to build a medical laboratory and eventually left teaching to run this lab full-time. Many of the people who worked at the lab were new immigrants to Canada and he was instrumental in supporting them to start new lives. In 1978, the family started their own new lives, moving to Arizona where Michael had a long career in management with AT&T. He is remembered by his coworkers as being an “amazing man… the finest.” Michael was a very involved and loving father. You could find Michael rooting his children on from the sidelines. Whether a 6am hockey game, an ice skating performance or an evening dance recital, Michael was always in attendance full of smiles, love and encouragement. Michael’s travels took him to many faraway places from Japan to Italy, and closer to home, Trout Lake where he spent many summers playing in the sand and lake with Mindy, Gary, and Elayne. Michael was into good health and gym workouts and super healthy food. A trademark of his life and held in the memories of all who knew him and worked with him was his ability to have them “roll with laughter on the floor”. His kindness and caring and devotion will be forever remembered and we will miss him all the days of our lives.
