Michael Leslie Piercy passed away on December 23, 2021 at the
age of 66 after battling ALS. He was born May 14, 1955. Mike was
married to the love of his life, Patty for 44 years. They have two
boys Matthew and Benjamin.
After a 24-year career with the Canadian Armed Forces, Mike
returned and settled in Acton, NB in the house of his dreams with the
forest all around. He took up a love of gardening, and for those who
knew where he lived, know the digging was hard but the results were
worth it. He loved going to the ocean and had a deep love for
reading.
Mike is survived by his wife Patty; his sons Matthew and
Benjamin; granddaughter Payten; his mother Ruby Piercy; brother Leslie
Piercy; niece Christie (Ian) Clark; nephews Steven Piercy, Alex
Piercy, and Mickey Piercy. He was predeceased by his father Beecher
“Mick” Piercy.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home and Crematorium
540 Woodstock Road Fredericton, where a funeral service will be held
on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Kevin Culberson
officiating. Interment will be held in the spring. Due to COVID19
protocols, we ask people attending the service to provide proof of
double vaccination and wear masks. Also, due to limited seating
capacity, please call ahead if you plan on attending at 458-1885. In
lieu of flowers, please give to the ALS Foundation or the
SPCA.
The family would like to thank all the people who were so
helpful to Mike during his battle with ALS. Dr. Fletcher and Dawn, you
were always there when he needed you, thank you from the bottom of our
hearts. To the extra mural and the great team from Stan Cassidy, thank
you. To all the wonderful nurses and doctors on the Palliative Care
unit, thank you for making Mike’s last days peaceful. It
takes so many people to help with the care of a patient, and in our
eyes you are all angels.
