We regret to announce the passing of Michael James Doyle, age 87, on Sunday, October 17, 2021, with his family by his side.
Mick was born July 13, 1934, to the late Michael and Lyra (Nichols) Doyle.
He served active duty during the time of the Korean War.
A country boy at heart, Mick worked in the woods from the time he was a young boy with his brother and later with his wife, sons and grandsons. Whether it was cutting wood or sawing logs in his mill, he was happiest when working outside.
Mick is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth (Wilton); children, Audrey (Gordon) Hyde, Donald (Andrea), Patrick and Timothy (Iuliia); grandchildren, Justin, Ainsley, Devon, Michael, Robert, Breagh, Danny, Daniel, Jacob, Rachael and Benjamin; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Vera, Molly, Minetta and Wanda; numerous in-laws; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, Mick was predeceased by his children, James and Albert in infancy; brothers, Basil, Gerald and George; and sisters, Effie and Elaine. He was also predeceased by his uncle and special friend, Ray Nichols.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. A memorial service will be held later when Covid-19 restrictions allow.
