Matilda Wakelin (nee Stewart)
1934-2021
Peacefully with her family by her side at the Queen Elizabeth
Hospital on Friday, July 23, 2021 of Matilda Wakelin (nee Stewart) of
East Royalty age 87 years.
Beloved wife of the late Bud Wakelin and dear mother of Peggy
(Paul) Lavigueur and Robert (Laura Lee) Wakelin. Loving and Proud
Nanny of April Lavigueur (Ray Bain), Jennifer and Ryan Wakelin.
Special Old Nanny to Darci and Casey Bain. Matilda is also lovingly
remembered by her brother Cecil Stewart (Stella), special friend
Roseanne Shepard and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased
by her parents Leigh and Ellen (Johnston) Stewart and siblings
Dorothy, Francis, James and Arthur.
Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral
Home. Due to current restrictions a funeral service by invitation only
will be held in the funeral home chapel and will be available for
viewing via live stream by visiting Matilda’s obituary at
www.islandowned.ca. Please check website for date and time. Interment
will take place in the People’s Cemetery,
Charlottetown.
