UPDATE — Service of Interment for Mary will be held Saturday, July 3rd at 11am in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. We recommend attendees bring a lawn chair and dress according to the weather for your personal comfort. In keeping with current protocols as issued by the province, masks and distancing, please.
Mary Bernice (Hayward) Works – 80, Valley, Colchester Co., passed away April 22, 2021 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Born in Truro on January 19, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Joyce (Conrod) Hayward.
Mary was a stay at home mom who loved to look after her husband, Junior and her six children. She loved to visit with family and neighbours and go on long drives with her husband. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Fred), Central Onslow; five sons, Dana (Debbie), Brentwood, Wendell, Valley, Robert (Michelle), Newfoundland, Michael (Vanessa), Dartmouth and Steven (Brenda), Central Onslow; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind her sister, Elsie (Ralph), Bible Hill; brother, David (Sharon), Truro; many nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Clarence “Junior”; brothers, Russell, Delbert and Douglas.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A Graveside Service will be held in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley on Saturday, July 3rd at 11am with Mr. Robert Wilhelm officiating.
