Mary Anne Stirton Buchan 2021

Mary Anne Stirton Buchan
August 17, 1933 – June 17, 2021

Mary Ann Stirton Buchan went home to be with Jesus on June 16, 2021, aged 87.
She died peacefully in Chancellor Park LTC, St John’s a few weeks after leaving her home in Torbay.
Annie was born on 17 August 1933 near Aberdeen Scotland, the youngest daughter of John Strachan Russell Buchan and Annabella M Leifer. She has no known family, but will be greatly missed by her friends, including the members of her church, for her care, generosity, independent spirit and sassy wit.
After emigrating to Canada as a young lady, she worked as a house keeper in Ontario before coming to Newfoundland to work as cook on the oil rigs and then with the Canadian Coast Guard, until retiring in Torbay.
A gathering will take place on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 1 p.m. at St. Nicholas Church, Torbay. This will be followed by her funeral and a service of thanksgiving for her life will be held at 2 p.m. remembering “My God, who supplied all my needs in Jesus always” (her take on Philippians 4:19). Torbay Medical Centre, home care workers and staff with Comfort Home Care, and recently Chancellor Park are gratefully thanked for their loving care of her physical needs over the last few years.
Donations, in her honor, can be made to the Salvation Army, who looked after Annie as a young girl.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Mary Anne Stirton Buchan 2021..
