The family of the late Mark Bennett
of Centreville, NB wish to announce his death at the Fredericton
Hospice House on October 1, 2021.
Mark was born in Worcester, England
on May 27, 1928 (93 years of age) to the late Bernard and Gwenyth
(Dunn) Bennett. Mark immigrated to Canada as a young child
with his family and lived his entire life in Victoria and Carleton
Counties, New Brunswick.
Mark’s early career was
that of a proud Canadian Pacific Railway brakemen, following which, he
was a Canada Customs Officer for over 30 years. Throughout his life he
was an active community volunteer, a passionate outdoorsman, and a
devoted parishioner at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in
Florenceville, N.B.
Mark is survived by his wife of 71
years, Germaine (Gagnon) Bennett and his children Stephen (Kathy)
Bennett, Daniel (Sandra) Bennett, Barbara (Len) Brewer, David
(Patricia) Bennett and Paula (John) Bennett, along with 9
grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is also
survived by siblings Tess (Ivan) Jones and Francis (Meriel) Bennett of
England.
Besides his parents, Mark was
predeceased by siblings Hubert Bennett (Halifax), Bernard Bennett,
(Kingston, Ontario) and Sheila Johnston (England).
A Celebration of Life will take place
at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to
Fredericton Hospice House, the River Valley Cancer Support Group Inc.,
PO Box 854, Hartland, NB, or to a charity of
choice.
