it is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Marisa after a brief illness, with her loving family by her side at the Stedman Community Hospice on Monday, July 5th, 2021, at the age of 68. Reunited with her beloved husband of over 41 years, the late Andrea Casasanta (2016). Devoted, cherished mother of Edoardo and Maryanne Casasanta. She will be fondly remembered by her brothers Vittorio (Silvia) Petrella and Carmine (Sylvia) Petrella; her sisters-in-law Elvia Petrella of Montreal and Vittoria Petrella of Italy; her brother-in-law Nino (Franca) Casasanta and many nieces and nephews both here in Canada and in Italy. Marisa is also predeceased by her parents Americo and Lina Petrella; her brothers Antonio Petrella, Mario (Margherita) Petrella and Elio Petrella and by her in-laws Edoardo and Maria Casasanta. Marisa was an exceptional seamstress, deeply devoted to her faith and found solace in gardening, cooking for her family and spending time with her cat Nilo. Family and friends will be received at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street on Wednesday, July 7th, 2021 from 3-5 pm. & 7-9 p.m. Please RSVP online at www.tollfh.ca to book a time for visitation. Due to Covid-19, masks are mandatory and social distancing protocols will be in place. Mass of Christian burial celebrated at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly Street, on Thursday, July 8th, 2021 at 10 a.m. A private entombment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Stedman Community Hospice or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
